Barrow upon Humber Village

Barrow upon Humber is a thriving village of around 3,000 people situated about a mile from the River Humber and three miles from the Humber Bridge with good transportation links such as the A1077 passing through the village, connecting it directly to Barton-upon-Humber, the Humber Bridge and the wider road network.

Barrow upon Humber is a village and civil parish in North Lincolnshire and the Parish Council was formed in 1894 and today numbers 12 councillors serving the village and nearby Barrow Haven.

The village has a long history, with evidence of human habitation dating back to Roman times. The area has seen various settlements and developments over the centuries. The proximity to the Humber estuary also means that water transportation has played a role in the area’s history.

Barrow upon Humber is home to Holy Trinity Church, a Grade I listed building with a history dating back to the Norman era. As a result, the church is of both architectural and historical significance.

The nearby hamlet of Barrow Haven, is known for its dock and port facilities, historically used for transporting goods along the Humber River.

The village is surrounded by the scenic landscape of the Humber estuary, providing opportunities for outdoor activities and enjoying nature.
